To help us solve your problem on the first reply, please include:

  • The email address on your account
  • Your device (for example iPhone 14, Pixel 8) and OS version
  • Your app version — find it at the bottom of the Grown-Up Zone

Reporting a bug

Bug reports are very welcome. Alongside the details above, please add the steps to reproduce the problem and any error message you saw. You can also send a report from inside the app: Grown-Up Zone → Support → Send Feedback.

Getting Started

How do I create an account?

  1. Download DrawToLife from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Open the app and choose to sign up
  3. Sign up with email and password, Google, or Apple
  4. You'll have 5 free credits to start

Can I try the app without an account?

Yes. Guest Mode lets you try one free transformation instantly — no account, no card. Creating a free account adds 4 more free credits plus a free video credit, unlocks the Parent Dashboard, and syncs your creations across devices so nothing is lost if you change phone. Anything you made as a guest moves across to your new account.

What age is the app for?

DrawToLife is designed for ages 3–8, used with a grown-up nearby. There are no ads, no social features and no external links anywhere in the app. Older children enjoy it too — the drawing and story tools have no upper age limit.

How does it work?

  1. Photograph your child's drawing, or draw straight in the app
  2. Pick an art style
  3. The AI transforms the drawing into that style
  4. The result is saved to your gallery
  5. From there, build a story, make a movie, or try another style

What languages does the app support?

DrawToLife is available in ten languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Arabic. Change it under Grown-Up Zone → Preferences → Language. Stories can also be read aloud in nine of them — English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic — with Traditional Chinese stories narrated in Mandarin audio.

Art Styles

What styles are available?

Every drawing can be transformed into six different styles:

  • 3D Cartoon — animated-movie magic
  • Realistic — the drawing as a real photograph
  • Anime — Japanese animation style
  • Watercolour — paintings worth framing
  • Claymation — stop-motion clay charm
  • Exactly as Drawn — your child's lines, cleaned up and kept faithful

Each transformation uses 1 credit, and you can run the same drawing through all six styles to compare them.

Any tips for a better result?

  • Photograph the drawing in good, even light, avoiding shadows from your hand or phone
  • Fill the frame with the paper and keep the camera square to it
  • Bold, well-defined lines transform better than very faint pencil
  • If a result isn't quite right, try a different style — each one reads a drawing differently

Story Mode

How do I create a story?

  1. Start from a drawing — transform it into an art style first, or build the story straight from the drawing itself
  2. Choose to create a story from the home screen, or long-press a transformation in the gallery
  3. Name your story
  4. The app pulls the characters out of the artwork — you can name each one yourself, and the names stay put
  5. Write your own opening scene, or describe what happens (for example "Bella the cat explores a jungle")
  6. The AI turns that into an illustrated story part, and you keep adding chapters

Story pages are illustrated to match your artwork's style — a hand-drawn sketch stays hand-drawn, a watercolour stays watercolour.

Can we customise the story?

Yes — Make it yours lets you pick your characters' names and steer the plot. In Kids Mode this is a tap-only chooser with no typing; grown-ups can type ideas of their own.

Can Sparky read stories aloud?

Yes. Tap the speaker on a story to have it read aloud in any of nine narration languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic (Traditional Chinese stories are narrated in Mandarin audio). As Sparky reads, the words light up karaoke-style — except in Japanese and Chinese, where word highlighting isn't available. In Bedtime Mode a gentler grandparent voice takes over, and you can set a 10-, 20- or 30-minute sleep timer so the story winds down on its own. Read-aloud has a generous daily limit; if a child reaches it, the app asks them to check with a grown-up.

Can I reuse characters across stories?

Yes. Save a character to Our Characters — your cast library — and they can star in as many stories as you like. Starting a new story from a saved character is free, and a story can star more than one character.

Do stories work offline?

Stories you've already made can be read offline — they're stored on the device first and sync to the cloud when you're back online. Generating a new story part needs a connection, because the AI runs on our servers.

Movie Director

How do I make a movie?

  1. Open a drawing, a transformation or a story scene in your gallery
  2. Choose the movie option
  3. Pick your motion — zoom, pan, rotate and more
  4. Tell us what happens and what your character says, and we'll bring it to life out loud
  5. The finished video arrives with sound, ready to save or share

How many credits does a movie cost?

Movies cost more than a single transformation because they take much more processing. The exact cost is always shown before you confirm, and nothing is charged until you do.

Games & Learn to Draw

What games are included?

Seven games are built in, and none of them use credits or need Wi-Fi — they're made for flights, car journeys and waiting rooms:

  • I Spy — hunt for hidden things in a big, busy scene
  • Pop the Bubbles — tap to pop colours, numbers and letters
  • Trace It! — trace ABC, 123, Japanese and Chinese characters
  • Drawing Puzzles — slide the pieces home
  • Sort It! — drop each thing into the right group
  • What's Next? — spot the pattern and pick what comes next
  • Splash Dash — surf and dive with Sparky to scoop up shells

Every game is free to start. Some have extra packs, scenes or levels that unlock with a subscription — Trace It! and Splash Dash are always free in full. There are also free seasonal events and themed drawing challenges through the year.

What is Learn to Draw?

Step-by-step lessons that teach little hands to draw, shape by shape. The lessons themselves work offline and cost nothing; turning the finished drawing into AI art needs a connection and 1 credit, like any other transformation.

Kids Mode & Parent Dashboard

What is Kids Mode?

Kids Mode is a simplified version of the app for children: big touch targets, voice guidance from Sparky, no typing, and no dead ends. Notifications are switched off completely, and purchases and settings are out of reach. To leave Kids Mode, tap the lock icon in the top-right corner and pass the grown-up check.

What can I see on the Parent Dashboard?

Switch Kids Mode off and you land on your own dashboard, with each child's drawings, stories and movies, a week-at-a-glance summary of what they've made, and their creative streak. It's a gentle view of their week, never a performance report.

Can I control notifications?

Yes, per type. Under Grown-Up Zone → Notifications you can switch drawing updates, story reminders, streak reminders, daily challenges and weekly inspiration on or off independently. They're opt-in, never marketing, and always off in Kids Mode.

Child Profiles

How do child profiles work?

Create up to 10 profiles, one per child. Each gets:

  • Their own emoji avatar and name
  • A personal gallery of drawings, stories and movies
  • Their own achievements, stickers and streak

Manage them under Grown-Up Zone → Family → Child Profiles. New creations are filed automatically under whichever child is active.

Rewards & Streaks

What are achievements and stickers?

There are 30 achievements and 24 collectible stickers, earned at creative milestones across art, stories and movies. They're designed to celebrate what a child has already made rather than to push them to make more.

What are streaks and daily challenges?

A fresh drawing prompt appears each day to spark ideas, and creating on consecutive days builds a gentle streak. Streaks are a small celebration, not a pressure — nothing is lost from the gallery if one ends.

Credits, Subscriptions & Purchases

What are credits?

One credit is one art transformation. Story parts and movies use additional credits, and the cost is shown before you confirm. New accounts start with 5 free credits plus 1 free video credit. Games and Learn to Draw never use credits.

What plans are available?

Plan Credits Price
Free 5 credits + 1 video credit on signup Free — no card required
Monthly 40 credits / month $9.99 / month — 3-day free trial for new subscribers
Annual 500 credits / year $79.99 / year — best value

Prices are shown in USD and may vary by region.

Can I buy credits without subscribing?

Yes — credit packs are available at any time and don't renew:

  • 10 credits — $3.99
  • 30 credits — $12.99
  • 100 credits — $24.99

How does the free trial work?

New subscribers can start the Monthly plan with a 3-day free trial on both the App Store and Google Play. You're not charged during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends. If you don't cancel, it converts to the monthly plan automatically at the end of day 3.

Do credits expire?

No. Purchased credits and unused subscription credits stay on your account.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple and Google, so they're managed there:

  • iOS: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions

There's a shortcut in the app at Grown-Up Zone → Subscription → Manage Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep your access and credits until the end of the period you've paid for. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

I paid but my credits are missing

Tap Grown-Up Zone → Subscription → Restore Purchases, making sure you're signed in with the same Apple or Google account you bought with. If they still don't appear, email us with your purchase receipt and we'll sort it out.

Can my child make a purchase by accident?

No. Purchases and settings sit behind a grown-up check, so little taps never become big surprises. Children see an "Ask a Grown-Up" prompt instead of a payment screen.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them:

If something went wrong on our side — a transformation that failed but still took a credit, for example — email us. We'll make it right regardless of the store's policy.

Privacy & Safety

Is the app safe for children?

Child safety is the first constraint on every feature we build:

  • Zero ads, zero social features, zero external links
  • No chat, no user-to-user contact of any kind
  • COPPA compliant
  • We never sell your data
  • Generated images and stories are moderated to stay family-friendly
  • Purchases and settings are behind a grown-up check
  • Notifications are parent-controlled per type, and off entirely in Kids Mode

How are our drawings and photos stored?

Creations are saved on your device first and synced securely to the cloud so they survive a lost or replaced phone and appear on your other devices. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Where can I read your policies?

Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are both on this site, and are also linked inside the app under Grown-Up Zone → Legal.

Account & Data

How do I delete my account?

Open Grown-Up Zone → Account → Delete Account and confirm twice. This permanently deletes your account, your credits, all transformations and stories, and your purchase history. It cannot be undone. Anything already saved to your device's photo library stays there.

If you'd rather we did it for you, email admin@nomadlink.tech from the address on your account.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that separately in the App Store or Google Play, as above.

How do I get my creations off the app?

Any transformation, story image or movie can be saved to your device or shared from its share button. Deleting a single item from the gallery removes it from your account without affecting anything else.

Troubleshooting

A transformation is taking a long time

  • Check your internet connection — transformations need one
  • Keep the app open while it works
  • Busy periods can add a little time; if it's still stuck after several minutes, close and reopen the app
  • If a transformation fails, the credit should return to your balance. If it doesn't, email us and we'll restore it

The app is crashing

  1. Update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check you have free storage space
  4. Reinstall the app — signed-in accounts keep their synced creations
  5. If it persists, email us with your device model and OS version

I can't sign in

  • Check the email address for typos
  • Use "Forgot password" to reset it
  • Try Google or Apple sign-in if you originally signed up that way — an account made with Apple can't be reached with an email and password
  • Still stuck? Email us from the address you signed up with

My stories or drawings aren't syncing

  • Check your internet connection — syncing happens in the background when you're online
  • Make sure you're signed in; Guest Mode data stays on the device until you create an account
  • Close and reopen the app to trigger a sync
  • Check Grown-Up Zone → Sync Issues — anything that failed is listed there and can be retried

There's no sound, or Sparky isn't speaking

  • Check your device isn't on silent, and turn the volume up
  • Check Grown-Up Zone → Preferences — Sound Effects and Voice Guidance can each be switched off
  • Voice guidance is intentionally off during Bedtime Mode
